Abstract
Increased complexity of the computer networks arising from the diversity of devices, applications and technologies, combined with the growing demand from users, requires a computer network that offer adequate treatment to multiservice (voice, video, web applications), its quality of service (QoS) requirements. This complicates the human administration even with the adoption of policy-based management (PBM) systems, since the efficiency of the model is linked to the knowledge and skills of the administrator to define a policy database that meets all possible states. In this paper is presented a model with autonomic capabilities able manage quality of service in computer networks totally policy-based. We introduced a knowledge layer in a policy based management traditional so that the policies were created in autonomic way, replacing the human interaction in the definition of the policy database.
