Abstract :
A comparison between in field scatterometric measurements of distributed targets and their corresponding SAR images has been previously proposed as the optimal method to carry out a radiometric SAR calibration. This approach has been validated by comparing truck-mounted scatterometer and airborne SAR measurements of the same distributed target. The European Microwave Signature Laboratory (EMSL) at JRC, as an indoor facility which is able to measure the same extended target both in scatterometer and SAR mode under the same conditions, has been used to further study the applicability and validity of this radiometric calibration
