  • Abstract
This paper presents an optimisation study of a photovoltaic (PV) pumping system using maximum power point tracking technique (MPPT). The optimisation is based on new reference voltage criterion, which is the addition of the open circuit voltage of photovoltaic generator and a segment of solar radiation. This technique is developed to ensure an optimum chopping ratio of a back-boost converter. This guarantees a simple practical execution. The proposed technique was experienced on photovoltaic water pumping system in order to optimise the PV generator output power instead of an easy direct connection or using a complex MPPT technique
