Abstract
A novel high-power rectangular waveguide band pass filter with capacitive coupling iris (CIRWBPF) is presented in this paper which is used in satellite transponder, and electromagnetic analysis is discussed. Capacitive iris is simulated by mode matching technique (MMT) to obtained S21 response, and different performance between capacitive and inductive iris is discussed. As example one Ku band CIRWBPF is simulated and realized, and the measured and simulated responses keep in good agreement, both show that the rejection at low and high frequency stop-band is almost symmetric compared to band pass filter (BPF) with inductive coupling iris.
