  • Abstract
Sensor often needs a high sampling frequency to earn good performance while computer is used as the vibration controller. However, actuator does not apply good dynamic characteristics usually. So vibration control system is essential a multi-rate discrete control system. This paper tries to investigate multi-rate vibration control system for the first time. The finite element model of piezoelectric cantilever beam is described, and zero order holders are used to replace sampling switches which show different sampling frequency. Then the multi-rate mathematical model of the vibration control system is established. The dynamic response of the multi-rate vibration control system is simulated using Matlab-Simulink, comparison between the system model of single rate and multi-rate is also studied. And the results show that multi-rate affects system performance, even threats to normal operation of control systems, and exists widely in the field of vibration control. Vibration controller should be also redesigned when considering the multi-rate discrete vibration control system.
