Abstract :
Recently there has been a widespread growth in the exploitation of wind energy. This requires the development of more robust and economical systems especially in higher voltage levels of integration. This paper presents an economic method on power control and compensation for wind-farms integrated in power system. It begins with an investigation on different controllable devices and compensators like capacitor banks up to using FACTS devices and their applications. Simulation results suggest a reasonable solution of using the combination of these devices to have a network with efficient power quality and dynamic characteristics
