Abstract :
The authors outline the generalization of the add-on procedure for the two-dimensional formulation that takes full account of the cross-polarization effects. It is shown that the pulse responses, referred to earlier, now become 2*2 matrices the elements of which are given. However, even with this modification, the add-on scheme still only requires a series of inner product operations to construct the solution in a numerically rigorous manner and is able to handle a large number of unknowns efficiently. The approach discussed is suitable for an analysis of scattering from bodies for which a common original structure can be identified. The computation time in this approach is typically only a fraction of the total time needed to arrive at the full-body solution using the conventional moment method. In addition, no matrix generation or inversion is required.<>
