Abstract
In order to get polyacrylamide coagulant with high molecular weight, we investigated the effects of the initial temperate, extra addition of azo initiator, different ratio of redox initiator, pH value. The optimum condition was obtained as follows: the optimal reaction conditions were initial temperature of 15°C, the mass of azo initiator 0.4 g, optimal pH 8, the ratio of redox initiator 3:2, and the ammonium persulfate((NH4)2S2O8) 0.75840 g/L 0.6 mL. Under these optimized reaction conditions, polyacrylamide coagulant with relative molecular mass up to 13.15 million was obtained and solid content with 76.7% was provided after two drying process.
