  • Abstract
A new high capacity comprehensive compensation system based on APF (active power filter) and capacitors is proposed to meet the requirements of harmonic elimination and reactive power compensation in low-voltage distribution power system, where APF is used to cancel the harmonic current and the capacitors are used to compensate the fundamental reactive power. Then the mathematical model of APF is presented, and current of active power filer is controlled by space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) method. Stability and performance of proposed comprehensive compensation system is analyzed taking control delay of APF, source resistance and parameters of passive circuit into account. The correctness of comprehensive compensation system is validated by simulation results, and the practical engineering results confirm that the comprehensive compensation system proposed in this paper has apparent effect in harmonic eliminating and reactive power compensating, thereby the cost-effective comprehensive compensation system has bright application future.
