Abstract :
Clamping is one of main procedures during squeeze casting production, but thermal field effects and improper metal feeding usually cause clamping faults, consequently result in spraying metal out of dies, locking squeeze punches. In the present work, the causal structure about clamping faults is obtained based on system dynamics, and their determinant model is also built. The control algorithms are proposed to control two main clamping faults and the control module is illustrated. The control method perfects functions of squeeze casting equipments, can decrease timing of shooting clamping faults and improve production safety.
