Abstract
The rate region of a cooperative scheduling system for the downlink two-user case is addressed in this paper. We begin with finding optimal scheduling schemes that achieve boundary points on the rate region for the non-cooperative two-user scenario. Then, optimal scheduling schemes are derived for the case when users are allowed to cooperate. Finally, the rate region of a downlink cooperative system based on the class of optimal cooperative scheduling schemes, is found.
