Abstract :
Recent changes in competition, the market, and process instrumentation and computers have made process control a primary focus for every process engineer. Consequently, industry has a strong desire for newly hired engineers to be aware of the contemporary equipment and practice of process control, in addition to classroom theory. Revision of the standard education experiences has benefits, and industry and academic collaboration on the improvements will keep the changes both educationally and industrially relevant. Best of all collaboration can create a significant funding source.
