  • Abstract
This paper presents the design and analysis of a small direct-drive axial-flux PM wind generator with a soft magnetic composite (SMC) core. A procedure is outlined for sizing the wind generator based on the wind speed requirements and the SMC core samples available for this research. A concentrated, non-overlapping winding configuration is used. Issues relating to the number of teeth and poles selected for the multi-pole, concentrated winding design are analysed. A prototype is assembled and some experimental results are provided
