Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a kind of highway route selection approach, AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). This paper takes Anhui province of China as an example, the layers are derived from DEM (Digital Elevation Model) and NFGIS-M50DB(National Foundation Geological Information System) based on GIS (Geographic Information System). The approach of selecting route is AHP, calculating the matrix in Matlab. Once the results come out, compare the theory solution availability to the existing roads, and propose possible settlements for the future route selection. Applying fuzzy numbers in AHP can reduce the subjectivity. It proved that the theory is effective in route selection.
