  • Abstract
In mobile satellite communications, a light-weight and low-profile antenna system is required for airplanes. To reduce the weight by using a small-sized diplexer, a self-diplexing antenna (SDA) has already been developed. This antenna can also act as a diplexer in the antenna itself to reduce the weight and the size of the diplexer. In this paper, the isolation characteristics of the self-diplexing array antenna are analyzed and compared with experimental data. The isolation of a self-diplexing array due to beam scanning can be improved by adjusting the relative angle of feed points and substrate permittivity.<>
