  • Abstract
This paper is to analyze the vehicle-bridge interaction system based on finite element method (FEM). The vehicle is studied as FEM model as well as the bridge: the bridge structure modeled by shell element considering the bridge deck´s vibration, and the vehicle is also modeled by FEM. The coupling effect is implemented by displacement coordination condition and Newmark-β method is used to solve the dynamic equations. Numerical example shows validity of the FEM model of the bridge and vehicle, and the effects of the bridge deck and three-dimensional vehicle model on vehicle-caused vibration of bridge is discussed.
