Abstract
The X-ray 2D detectors used in the experiments at the X-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) facilities produce large data. In order to reduce its data bandwidth, a lossless data compression method with modified range coder algorithms has been proposed. The performance on compression ratio and compression and decompression speed has been evaluated. One of the proposed algorithms has been implemented onto a FPGA in order to demonstrate the feasibility.
