Abstract
Knowledge management (KM) in a sense of “optimized handling of knowledge” is able to support value creating activities and, therefore, indirectly contributes to a company´s value creation. Since KM uses financial resources, merely describing a potential value contribution is not sufficient. The credibility of KM largely depends on the measurability of its contribution to a company´s success. In this paper, the generation of a control measure, used to determine the success of R&D knowledge management, is described by the authors
