Abstract
The computing needs and design considerations of the Data Retrieval Service (DRS) system are discussed. It is concluded that the DRS system is one solution to the problem of information storage and retrieval for cardiology. By using a `pseudo-object-oriented´, modular approach, the system is flexible, easy to use, and cost effective. It is also expandable, having been designed for evolutionary growth and technological development
