  • Abstract
PEM fuel cell is a clean power with a wide application prospect. The water content in proton exchange membrane plays an important role on the performance of PEM fuel cell. In this paper, Performance of PEM fuel cell with the cathode up was measured under the condition of different operating parameters. Influence of the placement of cathode up on water content in proton exchange membrane is studied. The experiment results show that when the cathode is put up, concentration over-potential of PEM fuel cell decreases; When fuel cell temperature is higher than humidification temperature, water content in membrane of PEM fuel cell with the cathode-up is more than that of PEM fuel cell with the placement of perpendicularity. Experimental results are helpful for performance optimization of PEM fuel cell and water management.
