Abstract
Vacuum switch has advantages of small volume, light weight and large capacity of interrupting current. It has superiority in aviation field. In this paper, intermediate frequency(400Hz-800Hz) vacuum arc generating in an improved weil oscillating circuit is studied in cup-type vacuum interrupter with axial magnetic field, upper limit of current interruption, arc voltage and its noise component, anode melting phenomena and the correlations between the measured arc voltage and the current frequency are investigated.
