Abstract
A numerical simulation of electromagnetic pulse coupling onto wires enclosed in cylindrical cavity is described. A modulated Gaussian plane wave excitation with the frequency range from 0 GHz to 10GHz has been applied in the simulation. The main interest is to characterize the mechanism of electromagnetic pulse coupling through slot onto wires within a cylindrical cavity. Through the use of EM topology schemes, the status of wires coupling for EMI is analyzed. A coupling coefficient is defined to evaluate coupling characteristics on wires for different electromagnetic wave and geometric configurations.
