Abstract :
The authors develop, implement, and test efficient computer methods for reconstructing the permittivity profile of a diffraction limited tomographic imaging system. The methods are designed to correct for weak diffraction and depolarization effects in electromagnetic imaging. Increased media penetration using diffraction methods compensates for the inherent loss of image resolution, as compared with projection tomographic methods. The primary goal is to gain further knowledge about vector inverse scattering in inhomogeneous media and its computational feasibility.<>
