  • Abstract
In this work it is aimed to detect transformer internal fault and magnetizing inrush currents by using independent component analysis (ICA). A laboratory transformer is used for real-time experiments to examine the suggested technique. Laboratory experiments cover turn to turn faults performed in primary and secondary windings and inrush conditions. Differential (Id) and restraint (Ir) currents are analyzed by ICA and MATLABtrade is used for required calculations. Transformer internal faults can be detected effectively with the proposed method.
