Abstract
In this paper we are going to compare the voltages at the receiving end of the lossy transmission line while using equalized pulse and sinusoidal input voltage. It is shown that for a transmission line, for a given total system loss, the equalization technique does not work after a certain critical frequency (fc). This is due to the fact that continuous equalization reduces the signal amplitude at the receiving end. It is also shown that at some point in frequency, (fc) the output voltage due to the forced sinusoidal function is equal to the output voltage due to equalized pulse spectrum. Beyond that frequency, fc, the equalization technique has very little impact on system performance.
