  • Abstract
This work asserts the position adopted by the European Union regarding the use of the renewable energy, as well as the major concerns of some European Union Member States about the non-polluting and renewable energy sources with the view to safeguard natural resources and to reduce the pollution of the environment. Romania´s applications are focused on the same large-scale use of renewable sources. However, although Romania´s potential of producing solar and wind energy is appreciable, investments made up-to-date do not allow for the maximum use of this non-polluting energy.
