Abstract
For measurement of a surface dose rate in a narrow space of a structure with various shapes, we propose a thin and high aspect ratio radiation detector that has the superior energy resolution and the positional resolution along the long axis direction. In our proposed detector, it is newly designed to process the mirror shape of the fine pitch Fresnel lens to the scintillator sides in this detector. It is expected that the designed surface profile of the scintillator sides makes position dependance of the photon transmission ratio to both ends without losing photons, therefore high position resolution and high energy resolution in measurement of surface dose rate would be accomplished. In this paper, we describe the detection principle of our new detector and its fundamental characteristic estimated by model calculations and preliminary experiment.
