Abstract :
This paper presents the procedure for developing the embedded L, C library with the physical-insight and scalable equivalent circuit model in multilayer circuit. The monomial expression was used to develop the scalable equation of each element in equivalent circuit model. The scalable equation shows good match with measured results. The max error is 5.5% and 2.68% for effective inductance of helical inductors and effective capacitance of MIM capacitors in our design range respectively. We also present the concept of using the scalable library for RF multilayer circuit designs. A 2.4 GHz 802.11b WLAN RF LTCC module will be demonstrated. The electrical performance and module size of the LTCC module are significant improved comparing to traditional PCB module.
