Abstract
Circularly polarized conical beam antennas have been investigated for application to low G/T mobile satellite communication or low bit rate satellite broadcasting services. It is advantageous on the cost reduction, for there is no need for tracking the satellite because of its horizontally omnidirectional pattern. This paper presents a novel design of a radial line slot antenna (RLSA) to radiate the circularly polarized conical beam. Design parameters for the slot arrangement are discussed.<>
