Abstract :
The paper deals with the mathematical modelling of electrical drives employing polyphase permanent magnet synchronous machines. One focus is the prediction of model parameters like flux linkages, inductances etc. by means of two- dimensional analytical field analysis. Thus the complex model is based exclusively on geometrical and material data of the PMSM. Another focus is the transparent validation of the results (with increasing system complexity) for open loop operation, FOC analysed with Simulink and FOC with realtime signal acquisition and processing. By this a reliable model is established which is a prerequisite for sensorless field oriented control as the ultimate aim of the study.
