Abstract
The principle and configuration of a real-time expert system for operation guidance of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) rectification process is presented in this paper. Some examples are given to show its application. A special knowledge base which is based on the expert´s experience, technological requirements and mechanism of rectifying column (RC) is created in fuzzy control theory and coded in the form of production rules.
