Abstract :
In this work the thermally affected transmission matrix for a cylindrical laser crystal has been analytically derived. A top-hat pump profile was considered to calculate the temperature distribution within a diode pumped laser rod. The transmission matrix has then been obtained by calculating the refractive index variation. The ABCD matrix reported carries the thermal effects information and can well converts to non-thermal cases.
