Abstract :
Machine-understanding of natural language plays an active role in pervasive computing system because under its help people can use their own natural language to assign tasks to computing systems without caring about the existence of computer devices. This paper studied presupposition resolution from the angle of natural language processing in pervasive computing, investigated the pre-suppositional phenomena, put Chinese verbal presuppositions into six categories each of which is presented with logic representation and resolution rules. A rule-based Chinese verbal presupposition resolution system is implemented. An application to a pervasive airline reservation system is first presented. The further research on presupposition resolution is also discussed
