Abstract :
Broadband code division multiple access (B-CDMA) is described; its applications are presented; and its advantages over narrowband modulation techniques such as frequency division multiple access (FDMA), time division multiple access (TDMA), or CDMA are discussed. It is noted that, in the commercial arena, B-CDMA can be used for personal communications services (PCS) or as an overlay on the existing cellular band. B-CDMA will be competitive with existing cellular and wired systems. It will provide high quality, low outage times, and toll quality voice. It will allow high data rate transmission, and it will increase the number of users significantly
