Abstract :
It is of great significance to reduce the consumption of fuel oil for pulverized coal fired boilers in China even throughout the world. Minimal-oil ignition technology is an effective solution to save fuel oil. The principal, system components and industrial applications of the minimal-oil ignition technology are introduced in this paper. Numerical simulation data shows that the newly designed coal burners have retained the superior performance of the original ones. According to the nearly two years operation results, the average fuel oil consumption after retrofit is reduced by over 90%, without any influence to the boiler´s performance.
