Abstract
A high diversity of mobile and fixed networks is expected to emerge in the near future. These networks will be of different types, sizes and technologies - from customer personal networks to large scale operator infrastructure networks. Moreover, it is expected that future networks will tend to become autonomous, serving the users needs with minimum human involvement. To this end, future internetworking will demand the network´s capability to dynamically advertise their services as well as discover other networks and services. This paper discusses the dynamic advertisement and discovery issues and presents a framework capable of handling autonomous network service advertisement and discovery in a technology independent form.
