Abstract
Permafrost area in china is about 2.15×106km2, and mainly distributed in Tibetan Plateau, Northeast china and Midwest mountains. Although engineering construction increased gradually in permafrost regions with the development of society and science technology, there was no precedent for the airport construction in permafrost regions two years ago. Mo-he airport, the first airport in permafrost region in China, has been established and operated since last year. Based on the researches on Mo-he airport, some methods of solving permafrost problems encountered in the airport construction such as the change of ground temperature, frost heaving and thaw settlement in study area and key techniques of engineering construction such as the decision of design principles of Mo-he airport, the improvement of frozen subsoil, heat insulting material and replacement, the processing of sharp interface, and measures of waterproofing and drainage, are particularly introduced and proposed in permafrost regions.
