Abstract
This paper investigates the effects of electrical disturbances as they apply to various household sensitive loads, namely personal computers (PCs) and household appliances. In testing, the PC was subjected to overvoltages, outages, as well as momentary and temporary undervoltages to simulate brownouts and blackouts on the system. The various household appliances were also subjected to said undervoltages, and a study was completed on the effects of surges on these appliances.
