Abstract :
This paper surveys CAD techniques being developed to handle the design challenges posed by embedded systems-on-silicon. Systems-on-silicon will make extensive use of embedded processors in order to meet aggressive performance goals under short design cycles. Research over the past decade in embedded system design and hardware/software co-design are applicable to embedded systems-on-silicon, but the challenges of designing single-chip systems raises the stakes as well as introduces new problems
