Abstract
Many project based working departments are in trouble due to the lack of a formal project management system. When management decides to have a systematic project management, then the question turns to how it should be implemented. In industrial R&D organizations, application of these techniques is very critical due to their role on to support innovation process. However, the inherent characteristics of R&D projects such as high uncertainty of the projects and need for freedom for creativity cause a flexible system design. In this paper, a multi-project management system implementation for an R&D center, organized under a strong project matrix structure with more than 100 employees, has been discussed
