Abstract :
A soft-decision-based sequence acquisition scheme is proposed for direct-sequence CDMA (code division multiple access) systems employing Kasami sequences. The algebraic properties of Kasami sequences are exploited to provide a very reliable estimate of the pseudonoise (PN) phase before tracking is attempted. The proposed technique is effective for PN sequences having very long periods
