Abstract :
Techniques are shown for estimating connectivity measures as functions of transmitter power and receiver noise, based on analysis of radio deployment statistics. Measures include average transmission radius, percent of valid links (one-hop connectivity), percent of radios connected with the net control station (multihop connectivity), and average number of one-hop neighbors. In addition, algorithms for studying possible control net topologies are presented, and are shown to give comparable values for multihop connectivity measures. These analytical techniques and algorithms provide a check on the reasonableness of test and simulation results
