  • Abstract
When single phase fault occurs in a non-solid the waveforms of the zero sequence currents in the healthy lines are similar to each other, but the waveforms of the zero-sequence current in the faulty line is quite different to those in healthy lines. The cross correlation coefficient of two signals represents the correlation between them. The more the cross correlation coefficient is close to unity, the more the two signals are similar to each other. Comparing the cross correlation coefficients of the zero-sequence currents in every line may find out the faulty line. The RTDS (Real Time Digital Simulator) simulations indicate that the method can find the faulty line correctly.
