Abstract :
Summary form only given. The authors present a study of the technological and competitive capabilities of the Venezuelan manufacturing firms which is based on a model of managerial dynamics. This model takes into account a group of variables related to the strategy of the firms as well as variables related to techno-managerial and innovation capabilities. The variables studied correspond to internal factors of the firm related to the stock of resources of all types accumulated by it. What is important to stress is that they can be controlled through active managerial behaviors. According to the model, a competitive firm is one whose strategy, capabilities and performance are coherent with the key aspects of market success
