Abstract :
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is planning to create a standard on fuzzy logic industrial control (FLIC) to promote application of this new technology. The scope of this standard should cover FLIC integrated in a control system. The guiding principle is that the document is to be prepared for the user audience. Normative references should make FLIC adhere to all relevant IEC standards and industrial practices. Requirements on FLIC specific terminologies, programming language and techniques are to be documented. How to incorporate experiential knowledge in FLIC application is a new challenge for the standard authors. International inputs are invited
