Abstract
Research shows that more and more individuals within companies are doing their own desk research, and information providers are making information easier to access. New types of organisations are coming into being to act as custodians of information, the conventional librarian role is giving way to the role of advisers and information consultants, providing the expertise needed in the world of information democratisation
