Abstract :
In order to investigate the mechanism of cardiac compensation from the level of microscope, we have developed a model of regionally ischemic left ventricle based on muscle fiber structure and mechanical properties of sarcomere, and incorporated it into a circulatory model established by us previously. Using the model, some simulation experiments related to myocardial ischemia and cardiac compensation have been performed. The simulation results suggest when regional ischemia of the left ventricle (LV) results in cardiac insdciency, the myocardium of the normal region has certain ability to increase its contractility to maintain a normal cardiac function
