Abstract :
This paper presents the modeling and simulation of a high-speed single-shift micro turbine generation system. This unit has four parts: a compressor-turbine, a permanent magnet generator, a three phases bridge rectifier and inverter. The model is built from the dynamics of each part with their interconnections, and two different control strategies suitable respectively for isolated and grid-connected operation were developed. Finally, simulation studies have been carried out under a stepped load. The model is developed in the MATLAB/Simulink (Matlab 2007a) and implemented in power system toolboxes. This model is a useful tool for studying the various operational aspects of micro turbines.
