Abstract
A new bistatic Doppler measurement system with an array receiving antenna is proposed. In this system the spacing of receiving array elements is more than a wavelength (e.g. 10 wavelengths), and it leads to forming many sharp grating lobes. With these sharp lobes (beams) and some signal processing techniques like a digital beam forming, it can be expected that the effect of sidelobe contaminations, which is a serious problem of bistatic measurement, can be effectively reduced.
