Abstract :
This paper presents the working principle and the way of implementation of a biogas plant using the sludge collected at the wastewater treatment plant at Apavital Iasi. The plant is able to provide 694 kW electric power as well as a total of 2540 kW of thermal power which are mainly used for internal purposes, ensuring about a third of total energy needed for supplying the equipments of the wastewater treatment plant. The hot water is utilized for domestic needs during the winter and for technological biogas producing process.
